Making a Header

I had almost the same experience making my header, as i did setting up my blog. It was a bit stressful at first. I jumped into Pixlr not having any sort of image editing experience, besides a graphic design class I took in high school. It was a some what annoying trying to edit the images, but after a while i finally got the hang of it. I finally figured out how to use the basic tools. Like a noobie, I took full advantage of the Magic ward tool. I didn’t really know what to put in my header, so i decided to make a goofy header. It consists of three separate images. I got all the images through the Creative Commons website. It started off in class when we were suppose to two images together. I decided it would be funny to put cats on a beach. Later when i got home I put in the chicken shooting lasers out of it eyes. Initially, I wanted it to be Mike Tyson shooting lasers, but I couldn’t find a good picture. I had to tweak the dimensions of the image to make it fit in the header. That ended up making the image look all squished. I re-edited so the image would look better in the header.  Overall, it was actually kind of fun. Pixlr gets easier to use once a spend a little bit of time on it, and I’m sure its much easier than the other fancy image editing programs. I think I will use pixlr more often now whenever I feel like making funny images. It is also a nice skill to have just in general. Below are the images i use to create my header. I would love to hear what you think of my header, even if you think it’s dumb.

  1. I had a good laugh at your image. Glad to see that there’s someone else who is trying to have a bit of fun with this assignment. Normally I’d leave a critique about proper cropping/resizing but I think in this context it works as is. Literally my only complaint is that there’s only one giant laser-shooting rooster. Good job.
